Process: (Link: https://linktr.ee/uwainternationalprograms)

Please email us with the names of your applicants so we may follow their progress through the Admissions Office
Have your students apply ($30.00 application fee).
We will hold a free application period in late February.
If you have 11 or more applications at once, we can give a code.
Send official transcripts (scanned copies are okay to begin, but official transcripts will need to be provided by arrival at UWA).
Most high school transcripts and completed US bachelor's equivalent transcripts can be evaluated in-house. There are exceptions, and we will let you know if there are any problems that will require third-party NACES or AICE transcript evaluation
All transfer credit requires third-party course-by-course transcript evaluation.
Some options:
International Education Evaluations, LLC (IEE): myiee application for UWA students
Spantran Evaluation: SpanTran Application for the University of West Alabama
Josef Silny & Associates, Inc.: Application designed for UWA students
Send language scores if necessary (see link)
Send Entrance Exam Scores if students completed the ACT or SAT
We are test-optional for undergraduate programs this academic session (through fall 2023).
ACT or SAT scores help with scholarship eligibility.
MBA does not require the GMAT
The MS in Experimental Psychology requires the GRE. See the program description for their minimum scores. (see link)
With completed applications, evaluated transcripts, and test scores (if applicable), the Admissions Office can generate an Admissions Letter if the requirements are met. (48-72 hours with a complete application and documents)
Students can apply for scholarships after receiving the Admissions Letter, if applicable. (see link)
The Office of International Programs needs the following documents from the student for I-20 creation after receiving the Admissions Letter:
Password Protected copy of Passport (see link for password protection instructions)
Password Protected copy of bank statements
Password Protected completed financial form (see link for estimated costs)
Once we receive the required documents, we can create an I-20 and send it to the student. (24-72 with all necessary documents)
Send required medical and immunization forms (see link).
Apply for a visa appointment (120 days before the start date. Fall start date: August 16, 2023) (see link for instructions).
Apply for Housing (Housing application available February/March for fall Housing) (see link)
Currently, a $200 Enrollment Confirmation Fee is required for undergraduate students
Currently, graduate students have a $150 housing deposit.
We are working on a $2,000 deposit that will cover all of this and more. We hope to have this in place by February.
International students can pay using Flywire, and we hope to have PayMyTuition as an additional option very soon (by February).
After receiving their visa, students will work with International Programs to arrange flights and airport transportation.
Arrival dates and airport pick-up instructions will be sent to the student.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
